After leaving the apple store with my newest purchase, I could hardly wait to open it. So I didn't. Right there in the car, I ripped open the box. the usual Styrofoam and BAM! There it was. The brushed metal of the External Drive. Very pleasant to the touch, and weighing only about a pound. I took the included stand and ratchet screwdriver, and screwed the footplate onto the bottom of it. It then sat on my lap for the duration of the drive home. Once I got it home I plugged it in. However, I was disappointed how ever to discover that it needed to be plugged in. Like all "serious" computer users, I was running low on plugs. So I just un-plugged the lamp and stuck the drives plug in. I got it hooked up to the computer with the included Firewire cord and turned it on. It showed up on my desktop and there it was. What to do now? Simple. Backup my movies. RvB, self made movies, everything. Once that was done, I deleted the originals off my computer and voila. 10 GB's lighter. 10 GB more room for music. So now I use this drive a lot. It's running all the applications that I'm afraid to put on my computer due to space. My movies, my pictures, it's all there. An added bonus: It's portable(ish). When I finish a movie for school or something I stick it in my backpack with the cords and show it off at school. I LOVE THIS DRIVE! Company: Lacie Contact: http://www.lacie.com Good news: Huge drive, cheap price, no huge transformer to plug in Bad news: Cords are long, stick out oddly making it hard to shove drive against wall or other such thing.
