Well, I have been playing the game Close Combat: A bridge to far. It is a WW2 game, where control things not on a huge scale, but like the scale of a platoon and a few tanks. The time takes place during the biggest air born operation in History. Operation Market Garden. Your objective is to seize vital roads and bridges so that you can have a clear path into Germany. You can play either as the Germans or the Allies. Now, before I get into technical details(and I don't think they system requirements will bother anyone. It's old, but will run on classic(9). Now some qualms about the game. It is fun to play both sides, but the Germans hold a slight advantage in practically everything. Each individual soldier has their own little stat's that affect how they fight, and if they are smart enough at finding cover and such. The Gameplay is pretty smooth, and it's loaded with many historical references from WW2. I do not know if it is still in production, but I'm sure you can find copies on E-bay. I got mine 3 years ago for $10. Unfortunately, Mac Game files no longer has the game on their site. So I'm also unsure of where to download it from. Company: Microsoft Contact: Ebay, Game no longer in production Price: What ever you can find on E-Bay Good news: A very good game, Delivers what it promises. Intriguing history and great detail about a specific point in WW2, Probably cheap. Bad news: Not made any more, Hard to find, Doesn't work in OS X Recommended: If the demo was still online, I'd say try it, but since it isn't, meh. I'd recommend it if you are interested in these types of game, and have some spare cash. Otherwise, games similar to it are the 2 Combat mission's. These are also more recent, and has a 3d graphic interface thing. http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=11590 http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=17310
