Cars
All available cars at the beginning of the game are listed here. Special cars can be unlocked by earning Silver and Gold medals on certain challenges.

If you are playing multiplayer, only the cars you have unlocked under the challenges are available when racing multiplayer. If you are hosting a game, and everyone else has a faster car, you can enable "Force host car" under the Host Controls, so that other players are required to race your selected car. If you join another person's game with people who have unlocked faster cars, don't expect them to downgrade their car to make it a level playing field for you, although it is acceptable to request this.

Definitions
  • Drivetrain: the power distribution layout. Front Wheel Drive (FWD) is usually easier to drive than Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) in simulation. All Wheel Drive (AWD) or 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) are easier to drive in difficult or slick terrain.
  • Displacement (cui): measure of the total volume of all the cylinders in an engine in cubic centimeters. Generally a larger displacement equals a more powerful engine.
  • Mass (lbs): weight of the car in pounds.
  • Power: higher horsepower usually increases vehicle top speed and acceleration, but is highly influenced by other factors.
  • Torque: a measure of the twisting force, measured in pounds per a foot, and the RPM at which the engine produces maximum torque.
  • RPM: revolutions Per Minute. Indicates how many times the engine crankshaft rotates per minute.
  • Gearbox: allows to transfer engine RPM to torque at more or less direct rates. The gear selection is totally independent per car. More gears is not necessarily better and sixth (or sometimes fifth) gears tend to be overdrive gears unsuited for racing purposes.
